Thamsanqa Jantjie
Yesterday I wrote about Thamsanqa Jantjie, the man who was suppose to help the hearing impaired people of South Africa and all over the world understand what the speakers, like, US President Barack Obama and others, were saying about Nelson Mandela during the latter’s memorial rites at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg, but who instead earned the ire of the deaf community with his nonsensical signs (https://quierosaber.wordpress.com/2013/12/13/mandela-rite-hand-flapping-interpreter/).
But off course I also mentioned why it happened and what was wrong with the guy, whose well scrutinized life did not only reveal that he was schizophrenic, but also lived a felonious life.
For those who haven’t seen it yet, I am sharing with you a video from the Jimmy Kimmel show where the comedian/host invited a sign language expert to translate exactly what Jantjie was saying to the crowds.
