Anybody of course can be Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Sen. Grace Poe and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas. Nothing can be done now with Poe’s presidential ambition as the Supreme Court has ruled in her favor.
One will immediately notice that Duterte, Poe and Roxas have names to protect and uphold, and such integrity is an essential factor in vying for the highest office, with all being adverse to corrupt practices in government. This characteristic is what makes them stand out head and shoulder over the likes of Binay. Their decency and uprightness as a leader is boon for the country.
Unfortunately, I could not say the same to the leading vice presidential candidates, namely, Sen. Francis Escudero and Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., but would categorically say that Rep. Leni Robredo is the best bet among the three to be the nation’s vice president.
Unlike Escudero and Marcos, Robredo is her own person who has shown not only her intelligence and capability but also the highest order of scrupulousness in her campaign sorties with Roxas.
What can one say, for example, at the demeanor shown by Escudero and Marcos (see posted image) when Robredo was addressing the public/audience during the Go Negosyo VP forum last March 14?
What utter arrogance, rudeness and disrespect!
How I wish the voting women sector of our society, especially the ones who are called the millennials (birth years ranging from the early 1980s to the early 2000s) will take notice of this inconsiderate and contemptible action and behavior of Escudero and Marcos towards their lady adversary.
No doubt Escudero and Marcos belong to the same ilk, that of feeling high and mighty as both families have histories of being together during the heydays of the despotic rule of the Marcoses.
Suffice to say the nation needs a Robredo to sustain the momentum of growth and development achieved under the leadership of either Duterte, Poe or Roxas, but doubtful and inconsequential if Escudero or Marcos takes over the helm of governance when their term of power comes twelve years from now.
