Pastor Apollo Quiboloy
I think I have written a couple of blogs in the past about Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, he who is the founder and leader of a religious sect that is fast becoming a cult now, The Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name, Inc.
For one who has seen him, by chance, on TV as a struggling preacher who had nothing but the bible and podium in front of him, wearing a cheap barong Tagalog in the early 90s, his transformation and success are simply intriguing. He became amusing to me also at that time, because having gained millions of followers already, having amassed wealth and having built his expensive New Jerusalem Kingdom in Davao from where his ministry here and to the whole world emanates through different media networks, not to mention the global reach of the internet, he developed superiority complex and had the arrogance already to proclaim himself as the ‘Appointed son of God’.
I never thought I would be writing again about this lordly, pompous and conceited of a man, whose phony personality, while attracting the naïve, the myopic and the oblivious among us, has completely turned me off.
But, not until I changed cable server, which includes Quiboloy’s channel, did I see the charlatan again and hear him speak to his followers here and abroad.
This time what I heard was no longer amusing and entertaining rather, it was displeasing and revolting. I can’t help but recoil with aversion at what Quiboloy was referring to himself this time.
Now, Quiboloy is already claiming to be equal to Jesus by calling himself a “begotten Son” and the “Son of God”! What nerve!
The impostor (impakto?) rationalizes that Jesus came to be the Savior for the Jewish people in their Jewish setting, but he is the Son of God for the people of the Gentile (non-Jewish) setting. He is putting himself at par with Jesus as another begotten son and another savior. What blasphemy!
Apparently, for Quiboloy, the agony and death of Jesus as planned by God for the redemption of sins did not include today’s humanity. What is needed for our salvation in today’s world is, who else, but Quiboloy, would you believe it! What gall!
Quiboloy now says, “ I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through ME”.
Isn’t what Quiboloy arrogating unto himself is a piece of Scripture that comes straight out of Jesus’ mouth in John 14:6 to describe himself to his followers? What shame!
Quiboloy has been inculcating in the minds of his followers that come Judgment Day, God will only have one question: Who is your role model?
The answer better be: Pastor Apollo Quiboloy!

I have issues with Catholicism, but Quiboloy’s concepts and beliefs for his sect and himself poses more of a problem for my own salvation. So, stick it up yours!

It is simply a matter of expressing ones opinion. I am entitled to mine as much as I respect yours. But I think you got it all wrong. It has nothing to do with money or enviousness. What makes the man outrageous, etc., is precisely the fact that that none of those you mentioned, preaching worldwide, has ever told their followers that they are ‘the appointed son of God’. I mean, what is he talking about? That’s the only beef I have with him, otherwise, you can lump him with the Robertsons, the Manalos, etc., and I won’t give a shit!

My mother is a member of that cult, imagine I sent her money to pay her air ticket from Canada to Philippines just to see us and reunite with us after 13 long years of separation. What she did is she stayed with us for 2 weeks and left us and went to Davao their believed new Jerusalem. My brother and I were heart broken. I even payed for her ticket and white long dress she will wore. I didn’t say any word but My JESUS who died on the cross for me knew what my heart contains that my mom will wake up one day realizes that Apollo Quiboloy is an anti – Christ. All the members worship him and it really pains me that my mother is one among the victims of hypnotism. Shame on you Quiboloy! If we outside your kingdom will go in he’ll let’s see on these last days when our LORD JESUS will fight the battle for us and for sure your soul will suffer in hades. We are all the sons and daughters of Jesus and we all belong to the royal priesthood of the Lord, except you quiboloy you belong in the dark.
Hope she gets enlightened one day and reverts back to worshiping the true Son of God who died for the sins of humanity instead of exalting somebody who is nothing but the personification of Lucifer the devil (Quiboloy’s favorite mantra) himself.

If he claims that he is the appointed son of God, why not pray fervently to God? Ask to Him to give you the spirit of obedience and loyalty to Him only and not be shaken by any spiritual leader. You pray to him that whoever this person, will come into light. But having said that, why do I feel that you are actually in the darkness, that you’re starting to tremble when you knew him?
Who is he that made you react like that? Are you better than him? How sure are you?
If you think, he is not right. Do not react, as if you know better. Keep your faith, be humble, and don’t hate anybody. As what Luther King said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that”
Just please. Don’t be a hypocrite. Better you be called an atheist than called a believer but hate others. I will pray for your enlightenment.
I used to regard Quiboloy highly because I saw him start his ministry, preaching simply, but with fervency. This is not the only blog I have written about him. Go back in past years. I was his captive audience and I know he was going to go places even if he lacked the sophistication then. Somehow I lost track of him and the next time I saw him he had this ridiculous added description of himself after his name and preaching now with outlandish sophistication that made me exclaim, what the fuck! What has happened to him? It certainly made a negative impact on me and, unlike you suckers, I never was convinced. Thanks, but no thanks to any prayer for my enlightenment. Keep it to yourselves.

My daughter in law is a member of this group and i am no longer allowed to see my grandchildren because i am not a believer of this group. This so called religious group is tearing families apart. If my son does not pay for her trips to see this monster she threatens devorce, taking the children and distroying this family. I pray, cry and hope for the end to this crazy nightmare.

Prophet Isiah said in Isaiah 8:20: “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Pastor Quiboloy should be tested by this biblical precept. If he can not pass through this test it is, definitely, he is one of the victims of strong delusions that God sent to those who possessed the traits of Lucifer who later become Satan and Devil. Isaiah 14:12-14 says of Lucifer, the morning star: “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” This was how ambitious Lucifer, who later become Satan.
It is clear that the claim of Quiboloy as the appointed son of God, arrogant as he is, has become blasphemous. By definition, a religious cult leader demands, like roman emperors, to be worshiped by his deceived subjects. This spiritually darkened mortal man conveyed another message that what Jesus Christ has done on the cross, more than 2000 years ago, is not enough for us sinners. So, Pastor Quiboloy, has been carried by a strong delusion that made him what he is now. This has long been prophesied, in the New Testament that false christs, false prophets, false teachers would come to deceive many even the very elect. To apply Isaiah 8:20 against Pastor Quiboloy there is no light in him.
More than 2000 years ago when Jesus Christ was still on earth He forbids us to judge but if we judge we must judge righteously.
Saw this man’s transformation from the time he started until now and it is simply amazing how far he has gone…but, you are right, blasphemous. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

Yes, Jesus and the Father are ONE. One in what? Jesus did NOT SAY “The Father and I are ONE AND THE SAME”. I don’t think quiboloy understood when Jesus said “The Father and I are one”. You should study that and inform quiboloy. When a man and woman gets married, they become “one”. One in what? Do they become one and the same person? Unlike other religion, voluntary ang tithes, at di naman 10% ang nirerequire kasi kung gayun diba dapat magpakitaan na lang ng payslip para sure.. Yang kay Quiboloy, 10k per member ang nirerequire. Kahit mahirap ang member ganun. Ang unang turo nyan para hook na hook ang member ay, kung ano ang sinabi ng dyos, susundin mo. Walang question at pag aalinlangan! Pag sinabi nyang ibigay ninyo sa akin ang virginity ng mga anak nyong babae at 90% ng lahat ng kita nyo, dapat sumunod kayo kasi ako ang dyos. Grabe. Nilalapastangan na nga ang tunay na Panginoon, nililinlang pa ang mahigit 6M na miyembro.tsk tsk…
In 2007 he was reportedly sued by a Mother for allegedly taking custody of her daughter who was 17 years old at the time. I’ve also heard murmurs that the “pretty” daughters of the followers are taken into his home.
Have you seen a Kris TV episode where Kris visited his mansion? All his servers were beautiful women who wore identical outfits, hair and makeup. If you go to rural areas you’ll hear stories firsthand from the poor farmers and micro land owners that Quiboloy allegedly forces them to sell land that he wants to own, for a meager price, or else they die.
Not a lot of people are willing to post stuff like this online because, as I can clearly see, you get so much hate and debate that you don’t ask for. So many farmers have died when they tried to protect their own land from Quiboloy’s hungry fingers.
Again, so many murmurs that wealth he had amassed were named and titled after HIM and not the church. So even if the church falls apart, he owns everything. Other murmurs say.. those members who have not yet fully fallen under his charm don’t let their daughters near Quiboloy because he’d try to take custody of them.
I’m from Davao and the residents here murmur a lot… and I say murmurs because unlike rumors, murmurs don’t change. It’s always the same. The land grabbing, the women, the money and possession..
To the writer, I recommend you watch the documentary Holy Hell (if you hadn’t yet…) you’d get so much insight. Holy Hell is a documentary about a cult, made by a former cult member. I guarantee it will shape any revulsion and negative reactions to Quiboloy’s ministry. 🙂
