A good advice for those wanting to have tattoo on their back is – never have an argument, much less a fight, with the artist before you have your back exposed to his needles and indelible ink.
What happened to an Australian man is a case in point
According to Queensland police Detective Constable Paul Malcolm a 25-year old man went to the tattoo artist’s house and had a disagreement with the latter but that “somehow in the course of the conversation the subject of tattoos came up”.
“The victim wasn’t interested at first but he was talked into it and he said he wanted a yin and yang symbol with some dragons,” Malcolm said.
As the work was progressing, a friend of the artist, who happened to witness everything commented, saying, “’Mate, it’s looking really good.”
Apparently what was being etched on his back, oblivious to the victim, was a replica of a 40-centimeter (16-inch) penis.
Still harboring hatred, the victim was then allegedly punched on his way out, before he could check the outcome, which reportedly also included a misspelled slogan about his sexuality.
The victim learned about the wrong design only when he showed it to the person he was living with who, sarcastically, said, ‘I don’t think it’s the tattoo you were after’.
Police have charged the 21-year-old tattoo artist from Bundamba, near Ipswich, with assault and could face also a public safety charge because he was not a professional tattoo artist and there could be hygiene issues.
Ouch, but another reason to make sure you go to a licensed professional for any tattoos or body modifications.
I agree.
